Men in swings   1989-1991

This series began as a commission from Jim Bailey whose partner had died of AIDS.   He remembered the happy days when they would both swing at Hanlan’s Point, Toronto islands.  I visited the site with him, did some some sketches, took some photos of Jim swinging.  Having no photo of his lover, I just painted away.  Jim too died of AIDS.
