Etienne Espinet: spring 1995

There are 15 drawings in this sketchbook, all drawn after several visits to a friend dying of Aids in the spring of 1995.  It was a heart-wrenching experience, especially since he was so young, in his mid-20s.  Many of the drawings have an imagined visitor at his bedside.  Sometimes this visitor would vanish under tape.   I used ballpoint, both sides of the paper were drawn on, and there has been some bleeding through the pages.

All drawings are 9”x12”.
